Andrabi goes against Mehbooba's belief, compels top officials to attend his rally

Anantnag, May 3: PDP Minister, Syed Farooq Andrabi on Tuesday allegedly compelled government officials attend his rally in Dooru area of Anantnag district.
Rally was organized to accord warm welcome to the Minister, who is a new face in Mehbooba Mufti led PDP-BJP Government. It was Andrabi's first rally in his assembly segment Dooru after he assumed the office as MoS.
Syed Farooq Andrabi is Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's close relative. He is Minister of state for Haj & Auqaf, PHE,and Irrigation & flood Control, power Development, Industries & Commerce.
Eyewitness said that officials, who attended a review meeting chaired by the Minister in Dak Banglow Khanabal earlier, were asked to be present on the stage in Dooru.
"On spotting the officials few yards away from the stage, Minister asked announcer to call the officials on stage," an eyewitness informed ET.
He said that officials were even introduced before the PDP workers one by one by the Minister.
Chief Engineer, Irrigation Flood Control, Chief Engineer PHE, Director Local Bodies, Deputy Commissioner Anantnagand Chief Educational Officer Anantnag, SE's of PHE, R&B and officials of other departments were spotted on the stage sharing dais with the Minister.
Presence is officials in the PDP rally is against the directions of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who on first day promised clean, accountable and transparent government.
However, Syed Farooq Andrabi justified the presence of officials and said, "They (officials) are here to address the grievances of public.”
