Army helps Kashmiri students crack JEE | People ignore separatists, support people-friendly initiatives | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 3: Despite separatists leaving no stone unturned to malign the Army's image and describing it as the "biggest enemy" of Kashmiris, Army has done a commendable a job by imparting coaching to students under its Super-30 programme as 15 students have cracked JEE mains exam and are eligible to seek admissions in various engineering colleges as per their merit. An Army spokesman said, "Eleven successful candidates now are eligible for the IIT (Advance) exam in May 2016 while all fifteen can seek admissions in various engineering colleges as per their merit. The Super 30 students are selected based on a state wide exam conducted by the Army with its Training Partner Center for Social Responsibility and Leadership (CSRL). All students are afforded free lodging, boarding and educational facilities under Army's Kashmir Super 30 programme and the best of coaching is imparted to give the students a suitable launch pad for success in Engineering Entrance Exams. This year, 26 students had attended the programme at Srinagar, out of which 15 have qualified in the JEE (Mains) Exam 2016." An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "Army has proved that it wants Kashmiri youth to prosper and excel in life and it's ready to provide all the possible to help them. The success of Super -30 initiative should serve as an eye opener for such people who are into business of spreading hatred and lies." He said, "Army has been doing a great job under operation Sadhbhavana and has undertaken many people friendly initiatives during the past so many years. People coming close to Army and becoming a part of the Army sponsored programs has unnerved the separatists and they have been asking people to stay away from the Army but people don't pay any heed towards the utterances of the separatists." A Kashmir watcher said, "Indian Army is a disciplined force, and it has proved it time and again. When Kashmir witnessed worst floods of the century in September 2014 Army jawans without caring for their lives came forward and rescued the marooned people whom the state government had left in lurch." He said, "Separatists have only one mission i.e. to push the Kashmiri youth towards graveyards and turn Kashmir into a war zone. They have done nothing for the people except pushing them towards the edge during the past 25-years. People too have realized that separatists are not their friends and Army is not their enemy, besides fighting insurgency Army has ensured that it wins hearts and minds of people by taking pro-people initiatives." |
