Warrant issued to IO in murder case | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 19: Principal district and sessions judge, Srinagar, Rashid Ali Dar today issued warrant against an investigation officer (IO) to secure his presence in connection with trial of 2009 Asrar Mushtaq Dar murder case. The court issued warrants following the IO's failure to appear before it in proceedings held previously and fixed May 31next as the next date of hearing. Asrar of Maisuma was found dead on Malkhah road near Rainawari on July 7, 2009. Police had registered a case under section 302 of RPC at Rainawari police station and arrested his two friends -- Imran Aslam Baba and Asim Ali Vaida. As per police, online chat was the origin of the murder as Baba was jealous of Asrar's friendship with a girl on social networking site. Police said Baba invited Asrar to his residence at Illahi Bagh on the outskirts of Srinagar and, in a conspiracy with Vaida, allegedly smashed his head with an iron rod. The duo later threw Asrar's body at Malkhah. The murder had sparked off massive protests and shut down at Maisuma for three days before police cracked the crime, alleging involvement of the duo. |
