Early Times Report JAMMU, May 19: In less than a month of their transfers, two SPs have got their orders cancelled and managed their postings to the places of their choice. While PHQ was reluctant in modifying their transfer orders, it was forced to do so under the orders of the home department, official sources alleged. On April 26 last, the home department had issued order No 246, transferring Enforcement SP, Srinagar, Abdul Qayoom Sofi to JKAP 11th Bn, replacing Shahzada Parveen who was transferred as SP (Enforcement), Srinagar. While the duo joined their places of posting, they were not happy with their new assignments, sources alleged. Within 23 days of their posting, home department modified its April 26 order and issued another order No 259, shifting Sofi from JKAP 11th Bn to IRP 10th Bn and Parveen back to JKAP 11th Bn, sources said. It is surprising to find that while the government was reluctant in issuing transfer orders of other police officers to fill various vacant posts in the department, it had transferred the two SPs twice in less than a month. |
