Irked over teacher's absenteeism locals protest against Edu Deptt 5/19/2016 11:46:34 PM Early Times Report poonch, May 19: Irked over prolonged absenteeism of teacher in the government school, the people from Kothana Teer including the parents of students of Govt. High School staged a protest demonstration against Education Department and Deputy Chief Education Officer alleging that the Science Teacher of the GHS Kothana teer has been remaining constantly absent from duty and authorities are not taking any step in this regard. Mohd Jameel the science teacher of 9th posted at GHS Kothana Teer has not been attending classes for the last over one month resulting the studies of students affected. "The parents of the students complained the Principal Govt Higher Secondary School Chhatral Mohd Aslam Khan, who constituted a team of nodal Officer including Dr Amir Hussain lecturer Botany and Mohd Iliyas Senior lecturer to find the facts, the sources said. "The students recorded their statement before the nodal officers that the said Science teacher has not attended science class for the last one month, sources said, adding the committee shall submit the report before the Principal for necessary action." The protesters alleged that absenteeism in schools in district Poonch has become a routine feature and no authority monitors the activities of teaching staff in the district particularly in the far flung areas. While interacting with Early Times locals alleged that the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Poonch and Education Department has failed to take care of Government run schools in the district.
