JMAC demands pay relief in cash to Jammu migrants | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 21: Jammu Migrants Action Committee (JMAC) in collaboration with National Panther Party Leaders today declared that the Jammu migrants shall resort to indefinite 'fast unto to death' in front of Prime Minister's House in New Delhi if the migrants are not provided the relief in cash and kind which has been ordered by the High Court of J&K in contempt petition dated April20, 2016. The High Court of J&K had also ordered to pay an interest @ 9% from the date of default in 2004 to the Migrants of Jammu. This petition was filed by the Panthers Party before the High Court through its State General Secretary Kamal Goria. The SC gave the final judgment after rejecting J&K government appeal. On April 19, 2016 the High Court of J&K in a contempt petition of JKNPP came heavily on the directing the state to pay compensation with interest. PK Ganju Vice-President of NPP accused the BJP-PDP government for betraying the interest of the Jammu migrants and directly violating the judgment of the SC and the HC. Talwara Migrants expressed their tragic situation they have been facing in Talwara Camp no drinking water, no water supply, no electricity, no ration. The Migrants middle school is in shambles and there are no teachers. They demanded that there should be no discrimination in payment of relief between Jammu migrants-Kashmiri migrants and also in providing basic human amenities of life. Talwara Migrants action committee in cooperation with the Delhi Pradesh Panthers Party shall resort to 'fast unto death' from August15, 2016 if Jammu migrants fail to receive justice. The panthers party also appeal to the members of the parliament for their support to the human cause of the Jammu migrants and ensure that all migrants are given same relief in cash and kind irrespective of their geographical background. |
