DIET team finds primary school closed for 20 days | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, May 21: Right under the nose of Darhal Zonal Education Officer (ZEO,) an inspection team from District Institute of Education & Training (DIET) Rajouri found a primary school closed for more than 20 days. Interestingly, ZEO, Darhal neither bothered to inform the higher ups nor he took any action against the two teachers for remaining absent. Not only this the resident informed the inspection team that one of the ReT teacher (now regularized ) is not interested to come to the school and teach the students. ZEO is aware about the matter but he has not taken any action against the erring teacher. Residents village Khetan under Darhal Education Zone brought the matter into the notice of Chief Education Officer (CEO) who constituted a two member team from DIET including Neel Kanth, HoD and Fazal Hussain , lecturer to verify the complaint about the closing of primary school at Khetan. Team on May 12 visited the school and found the school locked at about11 am. Team members interacted with the people and came to know that one teacher had not visited the school for the last many days while another teacher had not joined the school since the beginning of new session. Inspection team didn't find any record of the school and also came to know that the Mobile arrival registered is being maintained by teacher and it's in his custody On the report submitted by the inspection team , Ch Altaf Hussain vide his office order dt 20/5/2016 has placed a teacher Mohammad Azam, under suspension for his deliberate dereliction of duty and attached him with principal HSS ,Darhal. Another inspection team headed by principal Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS),Plangar visited middle school at Lah under Thananmandi education zone and found that the Mid Day Meal (MDM) was not served to the students because of shortage of rice. Team also found that out of 13 sanctioned posts of teachers including headmaster, three posts were lying vacant while three teachers were on leave and two teachers were deputed for 'Talash' survey." |
