Jammu, May 21: The clash of the exam timing of State Eligibility Test (SET) being conducted by Kashmir University (KU) and entrance test for PhD of Central universities has put the candidates appearing for both the examination scheduled for May 22 in tight spot. "We are worried about missing one of the examination as both the agencies are holding the exam simultaneously," said one of the Rajouri, who has applied for both PhD and SET exams and I cannot appear in both the exams as both the exams are scheduled on May 22, 2016. He said, "I applied for both the exams. Now, I found the dates of both the exams is clashing." The timings for the entrance test for PhD in Central Universities is 12 noon to 2 pm while timing of the SET is 9 am to 4 pm. Central University of Rajasthan is the nodal university for Central Universities who is conducting the entrance tests for PhD programme in some state and its impossible to change the timing as it is the matter of more than one state while on the other hand the SET is being conducted by the Kashmir University which can alter the timings so that the aspirants who have applied for both the exams can appear in both the exams. Member Secretary SET, GM Rather said that" though we have received some representations in this regard but there are around 37000 aspirants who have applied for the SET, so it is impossible to change date of the exam." |
