VC bars Budhpurnima celebrations in JU 5/22/2016 12:30:34 AM Early Times Report Jammu, May 21: Breaking the year long tradition of celebrating Budhpurnima in the Buddhist department, the Vice Chancellor of Jammu University this year showing disrespect to the religious program bared the students who organized function in this regard. According to sources in the Jammu University, it was every year tradition and Budhpurnima was celebrated as mark of respect in the Buddhist Department but this year baring the celebrations the Jammu University has disrespected the lord Buddha. Sources further claimed that recently Vice Chancellor of the Jammu University has issued an order barring all the political activities and programmes in the Varsity but this religious programme was ignored on the pretext of the same order issued by the Vice Chancellor of the university. Some scholar pleading anonymity stated that they have approached the department celebrating the Budhpurnima but the department dined permission for the same which is disrespect for the lord Buddha.
