DPK lambasts Akhtar's over mischievous remark on KP Colony | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 21: Democratic Pannun Kashmir today held a meeting in which they lambasted the Education Minister Naeem Akhtar for mischievous statement on the proposed separate colony for Kashmiri Pandits in valley. Ravinder Jalali said that the entire statement is deliberate, malicious and to mislead the people on the settlement of KPs in valley. "On one hand they say we want honourable and dignified return of KPs and on the other hand oppose the establishment of colonies for the KPs" said the spokesperson of the party. It is a double standard. The statement of the minister speaks of the mindset of the PDP and the government. The party said that the KPs are not commodity which can be traded or negotiated as is being done by the government. The KPs are human being and will settle any where they like, on their own terms and conditions and not to be decided or dictated by the separatists. They criticized the minister for proposing debates on the settlement of KPs and termed it as applying salt on their wounds as more that 26 years have passed and the government is now proposing the issue of settling KPs in valley. "The party warned the Govt. of serious consequences if it fails to settle KPs in valley and the entire responsibility of the fallout will be of the Government," Ravinder said. |
