Not single Sikh Judge appointed in JKHC: SAD | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 21: Shiromani Akali Dal's Jammu unit expressed his anguish over government said that for last more than 30 years not a single member from the Sikh community has ever been recommended for appointment as a Judge in the J&K High Court by any of the previous governments which is a clear indication of sheer neglect and injustice meted out to a Nationalist Community by successive governments. According to press release, it is pertinent to mention that Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) was in the forefront to support the ruling alliance in the last assembly election with the hope that the interests of the community shall be safeguarded. Moreover the B JP had promised that due share of the community shall be given in all aspects which was announced in the joint press conference held just before assembly elections. But to our utmost disappointment none of the issues concerning Sikh Community have been addressed so far. SAD demanded from the present government that name of a member from the community be included in the panel for appointment as a Judge in J&K High Court, as there is no dearth of Honest, Competent and deserving candidates in the Sikh Fraternity. |
