Sikh organizations condemn attack on Kirtan Jatha | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 21: Various Sikh organizations have condemned the attack as attempt to murder on the Kirtan Jatha of Sant Ranjit Singh Dhindreanwale, in which one the preacher died, in Ludhiana. According to press release, Skih organizations under the banner of Sikh United Front including Sheromani Akali Dal, Bhai Kanaiya Nishkam Sewa Soceity, AISSF, Sikh Noujawan Sabha, Sikh welfare society, J&K Motor Transport Company Association Jammu and five elected members of District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee had condemned the attack. Addressing the joint press conference S. Avtar Singh Khalsa General Secretary Sikh United Front J&K and member DGPC Jammu, said that the Sikh community has shocked over the unfortunate incident of attack on the Sikh community religious personalities/preachers who spread religious education without any interest and preaches the lesson of love, unity and equality among the general masses. Lambasting Punjab government over the incident, Khalsa demanded the action against the real culprits and punish under law as the sentiments of Sikh community has brutally injured. He further criticized the present DGPC Jammu for creating the disunity and misunderstanding in Jammu District and revolt against Akal Takhat Sahib Amritsar for not celebrating the Parkash and Shahidi Ourabs of Sikh gurus. S. Mohinder Singh chief organizer, Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K said that attack on the innocent members of their community should not be tolerated at any cost. He said that Harminder Singh of R.S. Pura was attacked at Akhnoor by the anti-social elements and whole the responsibility of his case has been handled by the Sikh United Front J&K. Other leaders also addressed media. |
