FMPHWs skip VHND, BMO seeks explanation | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, May 21: Block Medical Officer, Kotranka in Rajouri district has sought an explanation from two Female Multi-Purpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) posted at health sub centre at Daraj, for not attending Health and Nutrition Day (VHND). The programme was organized by ASHA workers at Angan Wari Centre (AWC) at village Larkuti. This action was followed by the language used by the parents of the children and women against the health functionaries which hurts the sentiments of the ASHA workers who after hectic efforts had brought the women, children to attend the VHND at Larkuti AWC. After a few hour long wait in the scorching heat the women, parents of children left the venue leaving behind ASHA workers in a state of shock who later brought the matter into the notice of senior officers. Taking cognizance of the negligence on part of FMPHWs, one among them is close relative of former Minister from the area, concerned senior health officer has sought explanation from them to be submitted within two days. "Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kotranka has informed my office that explanation has been sought from both the FMPHWs who didn't join their duties at VHND organized at Larkuti AWC" said CMO, Dr Chaman Bhasin. |
