Court directs IGP to appear in person along with fresh status report | Asaram's Bhagwati Nagar Ashram case | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 21: Additional sessions judge, Jammu, Rajesh Sekri today directed IGP, Jammu, to appear personally before the court on the next date of hearing along with the fresh status report of Asaram's Bhagwati Nagar Ashram case. After hearing the special PP, APP and CPO for the state, he observed that on the last date of hearing also, a direction was passed for appearance of the IGP, but he neither appeared before the court nor filed the status report. In the Asaram's Bhagwati Nagar Ashram case, serious allegations were levelled by one Vikrant Sharma against Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bhola Nand Bhola Nath for implicating Asaram in a fake case. Vikrant of Bhagwati Nagar was closely associated with Bhola who was incharge of the ashram in 2008-09. In September 2013 when Asaram was arrested, Bhola allegedly hatched a conspiracy to implicate him in a fake case and sought Vikrant's help. Vikrant, in turn, discussed the matter with one Narinder Singh, son of Shiv Narain Singh and some other persons who advised him to record the telephonic conversation with Bhola. In one such conversation, Bhola first demanded Prajapati's telephone number from him and then asked him to arrange some girls or ladies who could level false allegations against Asaram. Assuring that the girls' identity would not be disclosed, he also allegedly asked him to help him in creating false evidence so that whole of the family of Asaram was sent to jail. Bhola had later appeared in a news channel and claimed that bodies of children had been buried in the Bhagwati Nagar ashram of Asaram. To prove his point, Bhola allegedly asked Vikrant to arrange for skeletons of dead persons from some Muslim graveyard and then bury them inside the ashram to be shown to media persons at the opportune time. He allegedly told Vikrant that he was playing a big game and that media had also promised to pay him money. He had also promised to arrange girls for two-three days from Mumbai after creating false evidence against Asaram. (JNF) |
