CEO Rajouri withholds salary of teacher for dereliction of duty | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, May 26: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri has withheld the salary of a high school teacher namely Maqbool Hussain for not handing over the school record including cash book to the headmaster of middle school from where he was transferred in the month of April on the complaints by the locals. Pertinently after 1% result of 8th class of Government Middle School at Paddan under Dungi Education Zone, the inhabitants of the area locked the school alleging that teachers appointed at this school mostly remain on an unauthorized absent from duties and thus the academic standard of the school has got lowered. Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ch Altaf Hussain vide his office order dt 23/5/16 has observed that as the various cash books are still in the possession of Maqbool Hussain which needs to be handed over to authorities of the school. CEO Rajouri has also directed the Maqbool Hussain to appear before him on May 30 along with his original documents for further verification. Taking serious note over 1 % result of 8th class of a government middle school, Chief Education Officer CEO) Rajouri had stopped the salaries of all the teaching staff (except one teacher) including headmaster Maqbool Hussain. Following direction from CEO Rajouri, Principal Govt Higher Secondary School, Chingus who is cluster head visited the school and found besides lacking qualified teachers, the school lack basic facilities including desks, etc. "The academic standard of the school was found very below the average and most of the students got zero to 5 marks in the recently held Board Examination and only one student was declared pass" said Ashok Kumar Principal (cluster head). |
