BJP to not allow debate on 'Autonomy'

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 26: The BJP high command has communicated to the state leadership that National Conference resolution on "Autonomy' for the state, should not be allowed to be debated in the Assembly. The Speaker has yet to take a decision on either accepting this resolution moved by the NC, which had only recently suffered it biggest every defeat.
The Autonomy resolution first passed by the National Conference headed by the then chief minister Farooq Abdullah was rejected by the then the NDA government headed by the prime minister AB Vajpayee. Though, even then the NC didn't walk out of the NDA alliance.
The BJP is once again in the power at the Centre and this time with the absolute majority. It doesn't want any thing to be discussed or repeated which it had rejected out-rightly Prime Minister Narendra Modi had dropped enough hints that this BJP government has some definite plans for the state in which the 'autonomy' or role of 'separatists' doesn't fit into.
The party high command has asked its minister that it should not be allowed to be accepted or debated in the assembly. The BJP has also discussed it with its alliance partner the PDP and the BJP's national secretary Ram Madhav is playing the key role of intermedition between the two alliance partner.
The National Conference especially its working president, former chief minister Omar Abdullah had been highly crjtical of the BJP especially the PM Modi and had in the past also 'mocked' at him. The party has now made up its mind to pay the NC in the same coin.
Sources said the BJP may trying to have debate on the relevance of the Art 370 especially how it has either benefited the state or a particular 'family'. It's in line with the PM Modi's thinking and the approach. The BJP is also holding talks with its alliance partner to devise a strategy on 'exposing' the NC how it has kept its interests above the people and that the politicking over the 'Autonomy' has nothing to do with the general public in the Kashmir.
