Early Times Report JAMMU, May 26: Police have booked a man under PSA and sent him to jail for his fault of helping a woman to raise her voice against the alleged atrocities committed on her by the SHO of a police station here. The woman had raised her voice against the SHO in the recent past, levelling serious allegations against him. She had also moved court against him. When she did not succumb to his pressure, the baffled SHO tried to find out who was on her back. Police sources said after he discovered that she had the backing of a man, he implicated him in a case and got him by arrested by the SHO of a police station in Jammu north. Senior police officers too helped the SHO in this alleged unlawful act. Soon after the man's arrest, they slapped PSA on him and shifted him to jail, sources alleged, saying he was arrested by one SHO and booked by another. He was shifted to jail so that he could not raise his voice against the SHO who was now free to work without the fear of the woman, sources said. Instead of holding a probe into the woman's allegations against the SHO, senior police officer came to his rescue by booking the man under PSA, sources said. The man was also alleged to have been booked in several criminal cases by different police stations of Jammu and Srinagar including Gandhi Nagar PS, Trikuta Nagar PS, Nowabad PS, Peermitha PS, Pacca Danga PS and Anantnag PS. |
