Jammu, May 26: Showing no respect to BJP and the Fourth Estate, the Vice Chancellor Jammu University has geared up to fight to satiate his obstinacy come what may.
Taking cue from the elite think tank, the sources informed Early Times that after all the smoke only starts spreading slowly when there is a little bit of fire which has now taken the dangerous shape of conflagration due to over growth of recalcitrant attitude of incumbent Vice- Chancellor and him depending upon coterie of a few officers, sources further said, adding that incompetent officers surrounding the Vice-Chancellor has put the credibility of the office of VC at stake.
Its unfortunate that that office of the Vice-Chancellor was discussed in at highest forum of government i.e, Cabinet compelling Pro Chancellor of the varsity to take a serious note of the matter as emerged in a section of local and national newspapers .
The reliable sources in the university disclosed that his boasting of Jammu University having come at 64th national rank cannot serve as bulwark to defend him viz-a-viz lowering the graph of University and wrong doings committed by him during his two years tenure which included stopping of PG courses in Political Science, Economic, M.Ed.
B.Ed in Distance Education Department, gross discrimination while appointing contractual faculty between DDE and other regular departments, promoting junior and incompetent officers to the jobs of
Controller of Examination, Director CDC, Administrator GZSA, shielding corrupt and incompetent officers like JK Sharma Director, College Development Council and former Special Secretary to the present VC involved in corrupt practices in library books scam, Rajeev Mahajan, Controller of Examination, who failed to adhere to the University statutes and directions of Chancellor to declare results within 45 days, contractual teacher of high profile BJP politician remaining absent from nursery school under Home Sciences department, top officers misusing varsity accommodation despite their own houses in municipal limits draining govt exchequer, closing down Human Genetics Center, preferring sycophants and incompetent officers around him than straight forward and most competent officers in varsity, harassing scholars of History department, suppressing political activities and disallowing ABVP to hold Blood Donation Camp in varsity etc.
Watchers close to the affairs of varsity point out that how come the incumbent Vice Chancellor bank upon national rank 64 for ever which is reportedly not his alone achievement which he is boasting of and he cannot continue harping on the same tune of national rank when the quantum of his (VC) numerous wrong doings one after the other has become his ingrained habit caring not a bit for the vast devastation of academic environment which he has brought instead of providing positive direction to create conducive academic atmosphere.
Taking a dig on the highest authority of the Jammu University competent enough to control the irregularities of Vice Chancellor who is hell bent to create hatred instead of compassion and friendliness amongst his colleagues , anti students and anti academic atmosphere.
Instead of students friendly and pro-academic conditions, the sources said that due to leniency of the highest authority to nip the evil in the bud giving long rope to incumbent Vice Chancellor, the act of omissions and commissions has reached at such an impasse that BJP ministers had to roar and raise this issue in the recent held Cabinet meeting strongly opposing the anti students and anti academic policies of VC forcing Chief Minister, who is also Pro Chancellor of JU, to initiate action against erring VC. This anti VC crusade was later joined by Ram Madav, BJP, national leader castigating the VC and demanding his removal from the chair.
The elite section of the civil society cursing sorry state of affairs prevailing in campus say that once they too were students of Jammu university and in their academic career they never ever saw such a downfall and disgrace of the varsity to the wrong policies adopted by VC has landed the institution into himself becoming a subject of controversy which smacks of his deep immaturity level and poor administrative background. They further say that Chancellor of the University who has hitherto was watching the emerging unpleasant events without any move to clip the wings of VC propelling him to create atmosphere worth of an esteemed institution , perhaps believing the media reports as false propaganda, as generally enunciated by VC to defend him, but now with the joint move of BJP ministers to forcefully oppose and expose VC before Pro Chancellor JU , the time has come that both Chancellor and Pro Chancellor should come forward to save the Jammu University from further devastation at hands of a person who believes more in religious knowledge than administrative skills while handling the affairs of varsity given his latest update on social media calling media reporting as blackmailing and false propaganda and interestingly narrating that "Bishama Pitamaha had to pay the price for siding with Kouravs ",manifesting himself more as a priest than a sound administrator which is the dire need of the one at this hour to control the crisis ridden Jammu University. |
