Punjab based bovine smuggler among four held, 31 animals rescued | | | Early Times Report Jammu May 26: Police today claimed to have foiled a major bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of four including one Punjab based bovine smuggler and rescuing thirty one (31) animals which were being illegally transported towards Kashmir here today during a naka checking under jurisdiction of P/S Jajjar Kotli. The accused have been identified as Noor Hussain s/o Barket Ali of Kattal Battal Nagrato, Jeevan Mashi s/o Khurshid Mashi r/o Dinagar Tehsil Gurdaspur Punjab, Mohd Musshtaq s/o Abdul Majid r/o Sainik Colony Nagrota and Farman Ali s/o Saraj Din r/o Taraha Tehsil Dansal Jammu. "As per police reports, during naka checking police team from P/S Jajjar Kotli intercepted two trucks bearing Registration No. PB06V/6434 and JK02BF /4921 on suspicion basis and subjected the vehicles for thorough searching. "During the search of vehicles police team found 31 bovine animals loaded in inhumane conditions in the vehicles which immediately were rescued from the clutches of bovine smugglers, police said, adding, "the occupants of vehicles also failed to produce the required document for inter district transportation of animals. They said all the accused were arrested on the spot and a case under FIR No: 61/2016 u/s 188 / RPC 3/5 PCA Act stands registered against accused while further investigations are on. |
