Udhampur, July 08: A teenage girl today committed suicide by setting herself ablaze in mysterious circumstances at her home in Dogra Kud locality of Udhampur District. A case stands registered in this regard.
According to the police reports, the deceased has been identified as Seema Devi d/o Romesh Kumar Sharma of village Dogra Kud."
Reports said, "The girl reportedly doused herself with kerosene oil and then set her ablaze at her residence in Dogra Kud of Udhampur District."
"On seeing her ablaze the family members immediately doused the flames and took her to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Chenani, from where doctors referred the injured owing to her critical burns to District Hospital (DH) Udhampur where she succumbed to her fatal injuries.
"Later, the body was sent for postmortem," police sources said.
"Thereafter completing legalities in this regard, the police handed over the body to family members for her last rites, police reports said.
Meanwhile Kud Police have registered a case and started investigation in this regard to ascertain why the teen took such an extreme step. |
