Srinagar, July 8: By asserting that top commander of pro-Pakistan terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) Burhan Wani, who was killed in an encounter in south Kashmir today, was not the first to pick up the gun and he won't be the last, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah has indirectly warned against more terror activities in the Valley. Although Omar Abdullah has not stated anything about Buhran, he mentioned that Buhran would not be the last youth to pick up gun was a veiled warning to the Indian State. Omar Abdullah said that National Conference (NC) has always maintained that a political problem needs political solution. "Alas Burhan isn't the 1st to pick up the gun & won't be the last. @JKNC_ has always maintained that a political problem needs pol. Solution," Mr Abdullah, who is the working president of main opposition NC, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter. According to a report in a news agency, Omar Abdullah claimed that no militancy related incident was attributed to Burhan during his tenure as chief minister. "For all Burhan's social media activity I don't recall any militancy incident attributed to him while I was in office. Not sure after that," he added. He also said that the killing of the top HM commander means some tense days in parts of the Valley. "If this is confirmed its big news & will also mean some tense days in parts of the valley," he said. |
