Rajouri, July 8: The ways of the police department are quite unique despite the fact that seldom this force in the state has ever done any good to humanity except ripping the gullible off their money whenever any case is clawed by them. There are many instances which are daily reported in the media about this aw enforcing agency in the state which seldom is seen to be enforcing the law and instead breaking the law at every nook and corner.
The striking examples of police department's fallacious myth is apparently seen broke in district Rajouiri where many of the police post which are run by lower grade officials have turned the hub of corruption while the genuine and superior officials are either kept in the Lines or in the waiting.
The records available in various police post in district Rajouri and many of its tehsils like Sunderbani, Kalakote and Nowshera, there are live example in Assistant Sub Inspectors and Sub Inspectors are holding the charge of the chowki officers for more than five years whileas the munshis in the said police posts are stationery there since last 10 to 12 years .
This has given an apparent reason for all to understand that under the administrative provisions , no official is allowed to stay at a particular place of posting for more than two to two and half years , but for Rajouri , Nowshera , Sunderbani and Kalakote , the system seems to self -styled and unique of all other cases .
"A Munshi at Nowshera PP has been working here for past 12 years and he was never removed to any other place of posting since past these years ," said one of the aggrieved at Nowshera who alleged to have been falsely implicated in a case by this Munshi .
Also another victim of Kalakote police station alleged that the then ASI posted at Kalakote had demanded bribe from him to relieve his son from a hit and run case in which he was never involved.
Given such situation, the people of the district have alleged that the munshis and the chowki officers who are people from the same tehsils or from the other in the same district enjoy these privileged postions for the years together while the genuine and deserving superiors are kept in abeyance.
It was also alleged that while a super grade superior official of the rank of Dy SP or SP joins the station in the district , he also does not cares to look into the matter while he knows that his tenure is shortlived and does not wants to take any cudgels at lower rung . |
