People fed up with fake assurances of coalition Govt: Bhalla | | | arly Times Report Jammu, July 8: Accusing the state government of adopting an indifferent attitude towards the people's grievances and rubbishing Govt's claims of success on various fronts, former Minister Raman Bhalla today said that traders have been suffering tremendous losses due to erratic power supply. According to press release, he said that the Govt has forced them to take the path of agitation as it has failed to solve problems being faced by the public in this hot and sultry weather. "The people are unable to have proper sleep due to power outages during the night hours and traders and the entire business community has been feeling the pinch of the department's indifferent attitude towards their day-to-day problems," he said, adding that the repeated power cuts, breakdowns and interruptions, both scheduled and unscheduled, had also resulted into losses of industrial production and discomforts in the domestic sector and to thousands of pilgrims visiting both Vaishno Devi and Amarnath cave shrines. Former Minister stated this while addressing a deputation from Model Town, Digiana. The prominent among those who were present on the occasion include Rajinder Singh Gen. Secy. DCC Jammu Urban, Shamsher Bhagat, Amar Nath, Gurjeet Singh, Babu Ram, Ashok Kumar and prominent people of locality . Holding BJP-led-Central Government and State Government responsible for the plight of PoK DPs, Bhalla said that nothing will be fetched by giving fake assurances and changing roadmaps unless and until Government modifies the intention to solve the PoK DPs issues."It has been a considerable time now, BJP has taken the reins of Nation and since PDP-BJP coalition has taken up the responsibility to give free and fair governance to the people of Jammu and Kashmir but the issues of PoK DPs have not been taken up", he added. He stated that only fake assurances were given to PoK DPs over their genuine demands and Government has forgotten the miseries of PoK DPs who have been living under depression He further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi kick started its election campaign from Hiranagar and in its rally vowed to solve the demands of PoK DPs, but nothing has been done till date. Keeping aside the discriminatory approach, Chief Minister must come forward to heal the wounds of PoK DPs as early as possible, he said, adding that without delaying, Central Government must release the requisite funds for implementation of package so that PoK DPs will have their rights for which they have been waiting for a long time. He said the result of government's development schemes are no where visible on the ground. He underlined the need for carrying forward the comprehensive development plan launched by Congress led government to achieve the desired results of inclusive and holistic development. "Both the coalition partners are finding it difficult to explain the U-turns taken by them over various issues to their respective vote banks - BJP in Jammu region and PDP in Kashmir valley. The BJP managed to more than double its seats - from 11 in 2008 to 25 in 2014 Assembly election - on the pretext of issues like abolishing Article 370, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir, continuation of AFSPA and settlement of Pakistani refugees," Bhalla added. |
