Kathua, July 24: Despite having CA allowance in salary , CDPO, BDO & ZEO officers function from Tehsil HeadquarterBillawar than actual place of posting at Lohai Malhar which is 40 km from Billawar.
20 thousand people living in 11 Panchayats, all in mountainous area, suffer due to lethargic attitude of CDPO, BDO and ZEO officers who shifted these offices in Billawar and functioning from there but duly withdraw CA in their salary.
Md Salim Lone, zonal president Bani- Lohai Malhar PDP highlighted the illegally shifting of these offices meant for functioning from Lohai/ Malhar resulting suffering to people and affecting development of the area. Lone alleged that officers who shifted these offices to Billawar for the comfort and denying the services to the public from their actual place of posting. Lone informed that people walk 40 km on foot to reach these offices that affects their physique and determination and said that most of the development works could not be done, unavailability of ZEO office in Lohai Malhar affects functioning/punctuality of educational institution too.
" The matter has been discussed with DDC Kathua and SDM Billawar who sought report to these offices but officers made several excuses and refused to function from Lohai Malhar," he added.
Through a press conference, Akhtar Ali, senior PDP leader and Mohinder Singh president youth wing of PDP Billawar zone also expressed resentment and added that the deputations raised issues before DDC Kathua and SDM Billawar but no serious step was taken in this regard and people have to travel 40 km on foot to reach at these offices.
They demanded inquiry and appealed Chief Minister/concerned officers to issue an instruction to these departments seeking their presence at actual posting to function from Lohai Malahar than Billawar.
