People suffering due to coalition govt's neglect, lack of vision: Bhalla | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 24: Describing emergence of communal forces as a serious threat to uniqueness of the state's pluralistic ethos, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Sunday expressed concern over the politically frustrated elements hell bent to weaken the secular forces in state. Former Minister stated this while welcoming new entrants to Congress at a specially held function at Narwal Bala bye pass here this morning. Bhalla profusely garlanded the new entrants and congratulated them for their decision to serve the people under the banner of Congress. Addressing the women present in good number in programme, Bhalla said that the basic needs of one's life becoming unaffordable day by day due to soaring inflation. And the worst hit are the housewives, whose monthly budget has gone awry due to spiraling price hike of vegetables and fruits due to inflation. Bhalla emphasized the need for engendering an environment of lasting peace and normalcy to ensure rapid progress and a bright future for the State. He observed that the youth of the State are highly talented and given an enabling environment they can achieve excellence in all spheres of human endeavour. He blamed coalition government of worsening economic, political and infrastructure condition of the capital city because of their neglect and lack of vision. Coalition government has unfortunately taken Jammu for granted and does not feel accountable to its residents and are not even concerned with the huge issues of development that city faces," he added. He said unless the Government puts its act together in Jammu and deals the city and its development with the seriousness and respect they deserve, quality of life for its people would continue to degrade. He cautioned people to remain vigilant against peace inimical elements saying they may attempt to any mischief to vitiate the atmosphere to further their interest. Asserting that people are suffering badly in absence of basic facilities in remote areas, Bhalla said that government machinery is nowhere visible on ground. The tall claims of coalition about good governance and development of the State was only to lure the voters for the sake of coming into power, he said. |
