Drug peddler held with 218 intoxicants

Jammu, Aug 7: In continuation to the ongoing "OPERATION SANJEEVANI", a special drive against drug menace, which has spread in the society and is spoiling the youths of the society, one more drug peddler has been arrested by Bakshi Nagar police along with 218 intoxicants. Police identified the arrested as Nihal Lakhotra son of Ramesh Kumar of Batera presently staying at P2 Colony, Bakshi Nagar Jammu.
Police spokesman said that team led by Inspector, Ashwani Sharma, SHO Bakshi Nagar, SI Tara Chand and others during a patrolling at Bakshi Nagar intercepted Nihal and during personnel search of the above said police recovered 208 Capsules (Spasms Proxyvon Plus') and 45'Nitrayet -10 tablets from his possession.
In this regard, a case under FIR No. 135/2016 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation is going on. However, the whole nexus of drug paddlers is being looked into and more arrests are likely to be made.
The overall operation was conducted under the supervision of DySP Nikhil Rasgotra, SDPO West and SP City North Dr. Vinod Kumar.
