Rajouri, Aug 7: A week after the 'education bribery scam skeleton' tumbled out from Government Higher Secondary School Taryath, Rajouri, The government, vigilance organizations and the education department keep themselves silent, sending a suspicious pointer that these organizations including the government knowing the scams and illegal works prefers to keep silent only.
While fingers are being raised in district Rajouri over the education scam run in the Taryath School, many of the students of the school spilling the beans inform that the particular school is only source of illegal minting of money and blackmailing the students.
Wishing not to be named, many students while talking to this correspondent said that the particular teacher Harjeet Sharma, who is in the middle of the conspiracy in education bribery scam has been running this racket for many years since he has been stationed at particular one school only and have been doing the brisk business of minting money from the students of the class elevenths and getting them passed through illegal means.
These revelations would not have seen the light of the day until the poor and hapless students of Government Higher Secondary School Taryath who were not able to pay the bribe demanded by the lecturer Harjeet Sharma failed in the eleventh class examination and raised a hue and cry against the lecturer.
Harjeet Sharma enjoys his prized posting in the same school since more than ten years, and has been allegedly doing such business for past ten years.
Students allege that Harjeet openly dares students to shell astronomical amounts to get them through the class eleventh results.
"This is not only Harjeet Sharma that takes the entire booty, but such money is distributed at the highest levels also. They include top hierarchical education department officials who take their commissions on the regular basis ," said one of the source in the Rajouri education department.
He said, "This is the only cause that no enquiry at any level could have been established so far," he said.
The people of Taryath even have held the Education Minister Naeem Akhtar responsible for such dereliction.
" He always talk of righteousness and bringing change in the education system , now we understand what change he is bringing to the education," mocked one of the student .
The Early Times on July 31 under the caption head --- Lecturer becomes degree seller in Taryath, principal fears departmental enquiry - carried a story on the issue giving the entire details of Harjeet Sharma's and the fear psychosis of the principal of the school or hushing up the case.
The Principal Barkat Hussain of the school had admitted of receiving the complaints.
"Yes after receiving the complaints from the students as well reports from different quarters, I have come to know that Harjeet Sharma has been doing this illegal practice," said Barkat Hussain.
He also acknowledged that same lecturer even have overcharged the amount of money from the candidates seeking enrolment in class eleventh and have been a regular bribe taker from the students.
When asked as to why school management did not take up his case with the education department or the higher authorities, Barkat Husssain gave a vey guarded statement.
" I have taken this man to task on my own. If any enquiry would be initiated against him, this will lead to total dismemberment of the school management. I will also not be spared, so I fear sending him to the enquiry," said Barkat Hussain .
The people of Rajouri dismissing the principal's claim have sought vigilance enquiry into the case. |
