| 'Restaurant' turns into 'brothel' with SI's support | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 7: A 'restaurant' in the city periphery is alleged to have turned into a 'brothel' for a few influential persons who visit there during night hours.
"The illegal activity is going on clandestinely in the restaurant with the support of a Sub-Inspector, who is incharge of the police post under whose jurisdiction the business house falls," police sources alleged.
Sources alleged that the SI was being paid Rs 6,000 per month as bribe to keep his eyes closed to the unlawful activity.
If sources are to be believed, the SI allegedly enjoys good relations with the restaurant owner. "The official timing for the restaurant to close is 11 pm but it remains open till 1 am daily. Some influential persons of the city visit there during late night hours," sources alleged.
"The in-charge police post had earlier forced the restaurant owner to close the establishment on time but the latter had later developed some understanding with him. The illegal activities are being carried out in the rooms constructed on the first floor of the restaurant," sources alleged.
The restaurant owner is also alleged to be charging huge money from the people to settle their cases registered against them at the police post. "The money is shared by him with the police post incharge," sources alleged. |
