| Handicraft department turned defunct in Poonch | | | Rajesh Tandon

Poonch, Aug 7: Even as the handicraft department has been advertised for the welfare of financially poor and downtrodden section of societies, but in Poonch, nothing produces significant for the welfare of the poor.
According to the sources the system of the said department is defunct in Poonch district.
Locals namely Mohammad Sadiq, Ajaz Ahmed, Mohd Rafiq and Zahir Ahmed allegedly said that the people are just waiting to look the face of district officer of the said department.
They said people of this backward district are well aware of handicraft, but have no facilities available here so they can't prove their skills as the district is totally put in darkness.
People of different areas informed Early Times that the department has totally failed and funds sanctioned for different schemes are embezzled by the officials. They demanded an inquiry in this matter.
While our reporter tried to communicate with district officer of the said department by mobile phone, he didn't attend his call. |
