Silence of PM over Kashmir situation unfortunate : Jan

Jammu, Aug 7: Directing party cadre to increase public contact programmes across the province, especially in the rural belts, Youth National Conference Provincial President Ajaz Jan today termed silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Kashmir unrest as unfortunate and questioned Confidence Building Measures decided between Mehbooba Mufti and centre during ties for forming government in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the meeting of party chairperson, YNC Jammu Provincial President Ajaz Jan said that situation in valley is not improving even after about one month which is the most worried part.
"Kashmir unrest is directly or indirectly affecting the whole state and everyone is praying for peace in the valley "Jan said.
While questioning the Confidence Building Measures decided between Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Prime Minister Narendra Modi before formation of coalition government in J&K, Ajaz Jan said that what type of CBMs are these in which PM is not even saying a single word over the deteriorated situation in valley.
" Except chairing a couple of meetings and sending Home Minister to valley for a day, Prime Minister has so far not shown any concern over valley which is one of the most unfortunate part at this time " Jan said.
PM visited J&K many a times and even spent days during Diwali festival but when situation is worse and more than fifty people have lost lives and thousands injured, PM is not even showing concern " Jan said adding ,we expected PM to play a major role in restoring normalcy in valley but he seem in ' I don't care ' mood " he further added.
Earlier in the meeting Jan asked party leaders to increase public contact programmes so that Youth wing of National Conference gets strength in terms of party cadre at grass root level.
