Taps stolen from newly constructed SDH Bhaderwah | | | Early Times Report
Bhaderwah, Aug 18: Sanitary fittings of washrooms in New Sub District Hospital (SDH) ,Bhaderwah wnet missing causing a lot of inconvenience to patients and visitors. Employees of the hospital said the taps were stolen by some miscreants while the ceramics fitting like wash basins/ sinks remained intact. "Of the three wash basins in a washroom at the centre has only one tap, some employees on anonymity said, adding, "even the supply pipes to wash basins too have been stolen." "The washroom fittings made of steel can fetch a good price in market on being resold and perhaps that is why some miscreants have struck in hospital, they said. Further they added that it is hard and next to impossible to keep an eye on every person, who visit hospital and uses the washroom. Such petty thefts have caused trouble for the hospital management and the visitors," said a staff member.A visitor Tariq Ahmed said, "A person cannot even wash his hands. Sanitary fittings must be installed so that people can use the facility." "Old Hospital, Bhaderwah too are facing the problem of theft of sanitary fittings," hospital staff said. Apart from theft of sanitary items, instances of stealing other items from public institutions, especially hospitals are not uncommon in Bhaderwah . When contacted BMO Bhaderwah Dr Yudvir Singh Kotwal confirmed theft of Sanitary fitting in new hospital and informed the management is investigating the matter and after that will lodge Police complaint.a |
