Raising anti-India slogans not sedition: Congress | Kashmir & Bangalore anti-India event | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 18: Bangalore in Karnataka on Saturday witnessed anti-India event. The event was organized from the platform of Amnesty International, which is known for its support to anti-nationals in Kashmir and elsewhere. During the despicable event, anti-India elements, mostly from Kashmir, raised anti-India and pro-azadi slogans. The anti-India acts provoked the nationalists and there was a scuffle. Students in their thousands protested against the anti-nationals and the sponsor of the event. They demanded stringent action against both. They held demonstration on Saturday, Sundayand Tuesday to force the authorities to book them under the charge of sedition. Such was the pressure that the police charged the Amnesty International with sedition. It was obvious that the Bangalore event had outraged the nation. However, theCongress on Wednesday surprised the nation when it shamelessly sided with the anti-nationals and the Amnesty International and said that the raising of pro-azadi slogans cannot be termed sedition. The man who took the lead in this direction was none other than AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, who, like many others in the Congress, is known for making highly provocative statements. There is something fundamentally wrong with the Congress party. It is not changing its style and political conduct despite the fact that in 2014 and 2016 it witnessed only defeats and defeats, which were massive and humiliating. On Wednesday, the Congress also took another unpopular step. Its leaders accepted the invitation from NC leader Omar Abdullah and gathered at the residence of Farooq Abdullah in Srinagar. The objective was to work out a strategy that makes New Delhi give political concessions to Kashmir. After the meeting Omar Abdullah told media persons that the meeting demanded a probe into what led to the present unrest in Kashmir. Indeed, by making common cause with the NC and other Kashmiri parties, the Congresshas only given the nation to understand that it was not on the side of India but on the other side. |
