Kashmiris start questioning relevance of hartals, violence | | | Early Times Report jammu, Aug 18: The frustration and chinks are appearing in the supposedly and assumedly 'resistance movement' in the Kashmir after more than a month of violence and unrest which has till now claimed about 65 lives. According to the sources a group of businessmen had reportedly held meeting with the senior and most hawkish separatists leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani ending this cycle of violence which had also affected business worth hundreds of crores. "We told Geelani set deadline for Azadi, if it's achievable by such hartals and violence. We can wait even for a year and close our shops but tell us it's achievable. But if you can't do that then end this cycle," said a businessmen, wishing not to be named. According to the sources, many more people are coming out now in open against the diktats of the separatists and also hooliganism. They are also frustrated on account of the loss of studies especially when winter session is closing down. "Already we have lost many children and now those who are alive are having their career at stake. Who will compensate for this loss when exams for professional courses will start. Will our children go to the special universities to be set up by the separatists camp," said a parent, wishing not to be named. The top businessmen and professionals are holding parleys how to end this cycle of the violence, which they say is only harming the Kashmiri people and no one else. They have also been in contact with the top officials and are being supported by the the Central government. "The people have realized that by know that Modi government is entirely different from the his predecessors .And, India now is much stronger than that of '90s when terrorism started. So if we couldn't get "Azaadi" even then so are we living in fools paradise that we will get it now? The people are fast realizing," said a senior business person of Kashmir, wishing not to be named. |
