| Rifle body releases calendar activities | | Kathua district meet today | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 18: Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association today released its annual calendar of domestic activities to be held at different venues. Majority of the district championships are slated to be held at Gulshan Ground, a facility created by the J&K Police, here.
To begin with, the District Kathua Pistol/Rifle Shooting Championship shall take place tomorrow at Gulshan Ground, here under the guidance of technical team, informed general secretary of the Association, Sharat Chander.
Similarly, the Samba District Championship in the same events shall take place at the same venue a day later on August 20.
District championships for Udhampur and Reasi shall be held at newly established shooting range by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) Katra at Board's Sports Stadium at the holy town on August 21. District Championships for Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch have been scheduled for August 22 at Gulshan Ground, here.
Soon after the district level competitions, the Association has planned to hold 7th State Shooting Championship at SMVDSB Stadium Katra from August 23 to August 28.
"Only those shooters, who attain minimum qualifying scores in the district championships, will be eligible to take part in the state championship. However, shooters from Kashmir Province shall get direct entry in view of Association's inability to hold district level competitions," said general secretary.
Sharing more details, Sharat Chander said that the competition shall be held in four different categories of Sub-Junior (Below 15 years boys and girls), Youth (15-18 year boys and girls), Junior (18-21 year boys and girls) and Senior (21 years and Above men and women) |
