Satrari- Majalta road in dilapidated condition, administration unconcerned | | | Ashwani Sharma Early Times Report
Udhampur, Aug 18: Government launched schemes for the constructions of the roads in rural and urban areas are not making to their marks while remaining incomplete in between. Maximum remain incomplete due to slow system of concerning department and major works are stopped after the earth works, the live example of which is at Tehsil Majalta in Udhampur. A small stretch of road between Manwal and Majalta joining the Satrari village, the total length of which is two to three kilometers are dilapidated as the conditions of the roads are totally bad. Some locals of the area Madan Lal Sharma, Dharam Singh, Parshotam Singh, Prem Singh including Sarpanch of the Satrari area told Early Times that the condition of the small part of the road is totally bad as no one is able to walk on foot walk and no type of transport facilities of their due to bad conditions of road. They also said that two year earlier, concerning department started the construction work on the road but after the earth working construction was stopped and only a bridge on the road joining the Satrari village was constructed which was also damaged due to heavy rains . When contacted PWD Rajesh Gupta said that the department intends to release tenders for the bridge and it will be taken up soon. |
