Non-implementation of judgement on grades of CJ secys, judges | Contempt petition filed, HC directive to CS, others | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 22: In a petition filed by secretaries of CJ and judges, seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against respondents for non-implementation of a division bench judgment whereby it had held that they were entitled to grades equivalent to KAS, the high court today issued notices to the chief secretary, law secretary and principal secretary, finance. A high court division bench of Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan, after gone through the contempt petition, issued show cause notices to the three bureaucrats as to why they should not be punished for not implementing the judgment of the division bench. The bench said if the implementation of the order was not filed before next date, they would appear in person before the court. The petitioners have sought direction to respondents to implement the provisions of SRO 386 of December 2008 so far as their category was concerned and grant them the benefit of higher pay grade of the next higher posts in terms of the aforementioned SRO with effect from the date of its issuance. |
