Kashmir unrest: "Free for All situation" in Congress, senior leaders speaking in different languages | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 22: There is complete "Free for All" situation, anarchy in the principal opposition party of the country-Congress because all leaders are speaking in different language on crucial issue of Kashmir unrest. Leader like Digvijay Singh, who is known for his unpredictable comments, has called Kashmir Valley as "Indian occupied Kashmir". Members of the Think Tank of the Congress namely Salman Khurshid and P Chidambram are speaking in language which is contrary to the stand of the whole nation. This duo has rather endorsed stand of Kashmir separatists. Today while endorsing Prime Minister's stand on Balochistan, veteran Congress leader and former Union Minister, Ashwani Kumar said, "We all know the situation in Balochistan. Instead of settling its internal affairs, Pakistan is choosing either to interfere in internal affairs on India or it is seeking to repress the voices that are arising in Balochistan,". Asserting that booking Baloch leaders-in-exile for allegedly backing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks only showed the sheer bankruptcy of Pakistan, the Congress on August 22 stated that Islamabad's continuous suppression of its own people only exposed the political and constitutional bankruptcy of the 'failed state'. "We all know the situation in Balochistan. Instead of settling its internal affairs, Pakistan is choosing either to interfere in internal affairs on India or it is seeking to repress the voices that are arising in Balochistan. History testifies to the fact that this kind of suppression of its own people by Pakistan has only further exposed both political and the constitutional bankruptcy of failed state," Congress leader Ashwani Kumar said. On the other hand Congress today lashed out Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over their statements on the Kashmir unrest, saying that the central government does not have any coherent policy on the Kashmir issue and it is engaging mere rhetoric over the issue. "We want to ask the Prime Minister: When he talks about insaniyat (humanity), what is the definition of insaniyat as understood by the Prime Minister of India?" Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said at a press conference in New Delhi. "When the Prime Minister talks about Kashmiriyat, what does he mean? Is there any policy behind these words?" he further said. "The PM talks about engaging in dialogue. But with whom is he going to engage in dialogue? These words are mere rhetoric by the Prime Minister," Tewari further said. "Even after 45 days, the situation in Kashmir has not improved at all," said the Congress spokesperson. "PM Modi has no coherent policy to deal with Kashmir," he said, adding that the government also needed to decide on whether it wants to send an all-party delegation to Jammu and Kashmir, something which the Congress has been demanding since the second half of the Budget Session in the Parliament. |
