Ready to accept Jugal as leader of dissidents Tara Chand bends, finally 8/23/2016 12:02:59 AM Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 22: In a bid to remain in the group and avoid to be ignored, former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand is learnt to have signaled for accepting MLC Jugal Kishore as leader of the dissident faction in the State Congress. According to reliable sources in the Congress circles, the offer in this regard has been conveyed to Jugal Kishore through some members of the dissident faction, who are close to both the leaders. Even as there was no immediate response from Jugal Kishore, sources said that the proposal was under consideration, pending nod of their mentor Ghulam Nabi Azad. While elaborating, sources said that Tara Chand in his message has conveyed that for the sake of unity in the faction, he was ready to accept that future meetings of the group may be chaired by Jugal Kishore thus giving up his claim of being leader of the dissidents. Pertinent to mention that Tara Chand was recently disowned by the majority of Congress dissidents for his closeness with incumbent PCC president GA Mir who is cause of discontentment among the Congressmen in Jammu and Kashmir. However, on the other hand, Tara Chand holds elevation of Sham Lal Sharma as senior vice-president main cause of disappointment among a section of Congress leaders in Jammu province. Though Tara Chand loyalists claim that he was offering to accept leadership of Jugal Kishore for ensuring unity among the dissidents, sources said that main reason behind the patchup offer is to scuttle the increasing closeness of Jugal Kishore with Sharma brothers (Sham Lal Sharma and Madan Lal Sharma), who are in good books of Ghulam Nabi Azad these days. It is a well known fact that for Tara Chand, Sharma brothers are enemy number one and he can go to any extent for neutralizing the latter, sources said. Since Jugal Kishore is known to be most confidential of Ghulam Nabi Azad in Jammu Kashmir, sources said that a decision on the patch up offer is likely to be affirmative as the latter has already conveyed to his loyalists to keep Tara Chand performing but within his Assembly constituency Khour.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
