The land was alleged to have been transferred fraudulently to some other person by then tehsildar (agrarian), Jammu. In his complaint lodged with SVC, Sardev Singh alleged that attestation of mutation No 116 vis-a-vis land under khasra No 24 and 39, measuring about 19 kanals at Surey Chak, was done in an illegal manner in favour of one Sham Singh by then tehsildar (agrarian), Jammu. Taking cognizance of complaint, SVC sought factual report from the deputy commissioner, Jammu, in this regard. The DC's report prima facie revealed that the land actually owned by the complainant was presently under the illegal possession of Sham Singh who was cultivating it for the past many years, taking the shield of various orders passed by revenue authorities in the complainant's absence and on the basis of false and frivolous statements made by illegal beneficiary before such authorities. The DC said by the timely intervention of SVC, the revenue authorities had demarcated the land and succeeded to restore the possession of about 19 kanals of land to the complainant after about 20 years. |
