AJKGCA to go on indefinite strike from next week | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 22: All Jammu and Kashmir Goods Carrier Association (AJKGCA) today has decided to go on indefinite strike from next week.The decision was taken by association members during meeting which held under the leadership of Kuleep Singh & Charanjit Singh Raina. During meeting they expressed grave concern over the present prevailing situation in Kashmir valley the association president Harbans Singh said that in present situation it seems that that there is no government and law enforcing agency in Kashmir valley. The recent incidents of stone pelting on the trucks belonging to Jammu province engaged in transport of ration and other essential commodities to Kashmir valley for which valley people must be thankful to our drivers. But instead of thanking some of the miscreants of the valley are beating, looting and pelting stones on our trucks. Moreover government and their law enforcing agencies seems failed to safety & protection to out drivers and their trucks. Now under these circumstances our drivers don't feel safe to travel Kashmir valley. They demanded from government to provide safety to driver otherwise, the association goes on indefinite strike. Sukhdev Singh, Bacham Singh, Vivek Mehta, Ajab Singh, Gurjit Singh and BB Sharma were also present during meeting. |
