Two drug peddlers held along with drugs in Samba | | | Early Times Report
Samba Aug 22: Continuing its drive against the drug peddlers, a Police party of P/S Bari-Brahmana today arrested two drug peddlers alongwith the consignment of drugs during a naka checking here under the jurisdiction of concerned police in Samba district. According to police spokesperson, on specific input the police party headed by ASI Mohan Lal under the supervision of Yashpal Singh Jamwal,SHO P/S Bari-Brahmna while conducting checking of vehicles moving towards Industrial Area Bari Brahmana at SIDCO chowk intercepted a truck bearing registration No:RJ-31GA 5214 at about 1600 hours."When the truck was subjected to thorough search police team recovered 1.5 Kg of Bhuki from the cabin of the said vehicle, police said, adding, "driver of truck namely Gurdeep Singh s/o Jagroop Singh of W-9, Saddapati Jaitoo Mandi, District Fareedkot, Punjab was arrested on the spot alongwith contraband." Accordingly a case FIR No.106/2016 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at P/S Bari-Brahmana and the investigations were taken up. Yet in another case one Manik Sharma s/o Bushan Lal Sharma of Supwal, was arrested while he was selling some drugs to the youth of nearby areas at Nanak Chack, near Railway Bridge. "Police team 03 gms of 'Smack' and 28 gms of Charas from the possession of accused, police said.The catch was made by a police team headed by SI Surinder Singh Nagra PP Supwal. Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 132/2016 U/S 8/20/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered against the said accused at P/S Samba and investigations are on. |
