Two theft cases worked out, 6 held with stolen valuables worth Rs 2.5 Lakhs | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 22: Udhampur Police claimed to have worked out two theft cases of Police Station Majalta with the arrest of six accused besides recovery of stolen jewellery amounting to Rs. 2,51,835 /- from the accused. Police spokesperson said, "The accused have been identified as Ayub Ahmed s/o Shamas Din of Goti Chandiyar -Bani, Shabir Ahmed s/o Ghulam Qadir of Telli Basti Bari-Brahmna Samba, Sadam Hussain s/o Abdul Rahim of Surjan Chalok -Bani and Darshan Kumar @ Pandit s/o Chajju Ram of Chak Ram Singh Hatli Morh Kathua against who a case under FIR No. 41/2016 u/s 454/380/109/411/201 RPC stands registered at P/S Majalta while catch also included arrest of Mohd Javed s/o Mohd Gulzar of Bateda -Basoli and Talib Hussain s/o Abdul Hamid of Lohai -Lohai Malhar Kathua involved in Case FIR No. 50/2016 u/s 454/380 RPC P/S Majalta." "After getting the information about two thefts took place at the residence of Uttam Chand s/o Kundi Ram of Amara Tehsil Majala on 22/07/2016 and another at the residence of Ramesh Singh s/o Rasal Singh of Dayoat Tehsil Majala on 23/06/2016 and thieves decamped with valuables and Cash in Majalta area of Udhampur district. "To this effect an FIR No. 41/2016 u/s 454/380/109/411/201 RPC P/S Majalta and another FIR No. 50/2016 u/s 454/380 RPC P/S Majalta stand registered already with P/S Majalta, police said. It added that during the investigations, the police team conducted raids at various locations thereby arresting number of suspects. "During the course of sustained questioning of the suspects, four accused namely Ayub Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed, Sadam Hussain and Darshan Kumar involved in a case registered under FIR No. 41/2016 u/s 454/380/109/411/201 RPC at P/S Majalta while another case stands registered against two other accused namely Mohd Javed and Talib Hussain who allegedly are involved in case registered under FIR No. 50/2016 u/s 454/380 RPC P/S Majalta. "Due to sustained and professional questioning the accused broke down and admitted their involvement in the commission of crime, Police said. It added upon their disclosure, property worth Rs. 2,21,385/- in the form of gold and silver ornaments has been recovered. "Further investigation into the matter is going on. Involvement of the accused persons in other theft cases of P/S Majalta and other Police Stations also cannot be ruled out, police added. |
