Cong seeks another partition of India?
9/1/2016 10:37:31 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 1: The Congress is in destruct mode. It is putting forth suggestions concerning Kashmir issue, which, if accepted and implemented, will lead to another communal partition of India and destruction of the country itself. It is making suggestions which are no different from those of the Kashmiri separatists and even Pakistan.
A former union minister has come out with a nasty formula. He calls it "Modi-Sharif formula". He says that there is but one way in which Kashmir problem can resolved and that is by accepting and implementing the Musharraf formula and by invoking the talks between JL Nehru and Sheikh Abdullah in 1952.
Another Congress leader, on the other hand, has declared that the time of "patchwork" is over and now is the time for a "lasting" solution to the problem. His meaning is loud and clear. He means accept what the Kashmiri separatists have been longing for and it is not a secret that they are longing for separation not just of the Valley but whole of the state from India.
What will it mean if the Musharraf formula is accepted and implemented and the 1952 talks between Nehru and Sheikh invoked? It would mean India-Pakistan joint control over J&K, maximum self-governance (in this case a step short of azadi) for J&K, demilitarization and porous borders, Similarly, the invocation of the 1952 talks would also mean the same thing: withdrawal of all the central laws and institutions from the state.
The whole point is that the Congress is playing with dangerous tools. The Narendra Modi government must reject its suggestions like what Vajpayee government did to the divisive autonomy committee report of the NC. There is no other alternative. It must remember that Jammu and Ladakh and Kashmiri Hindus are also there and they are bitterly opposed to what the two Congress leaders and others of their ilk are saying and suggesting.
