CUJ organizes session on Challenges trends in World Trade | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 1: Prof Nawal Kishore from IGNOU, New Delhi delivered an interactive session for the students of School of Business Studies on Global Economy- Issues and Challenges under the guidance of Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu. Quoting examples from International Economy he explained the present economic conditions in India. Comparing Indian Economy with other countries he mesmerized the audience with his thought provoking session. He emphasised on learning through active reading, active writing and active oration and explained the value chain in personality. Emphasizing on the need for excellence in life, he quoted Tom Peter that excellence is no more confined to four walls of the laboratory. It is pervasive and excellence needs to be practiced in all walks of life. Pointing towards growth in global economy i.e. production, trade and investment he remarked the growth in trade is much higher than growth in other two. Citing examples from China & South Korea he emphasised the role of trade in the development of economy. Referring to the skewness of world he informed that Western Europe, South East Asian countries, Australia and New Zealand contributes to 83percent of world wealth whereas 86percent of world resources are consumed by 14percent of world population. He further stated that how competitive we are globally will determine our strength. Therefore the focus needs to be on development, innovation, productivity and competitive skills in youth. The students from the School of Business Studies enthuastically participated in the session. |
