Jammu, Sept 4: The 31st Jammu District Badminton Championship, organised by Jammu City and District Badminton Association, started today at Police Badminton Hall, District Police Lines, here today.
The event was declared open by Commandant CRPF 160 Bn, Surinder Kumar Mehra, who was chief guest in the opening function. He interacted with the young participants from various clubs and encouraged them.
Meanwhile, as per a handout issued here today, about 300 players in different age groups are taking part in this event.
Among others present were general secretary of J&K Badminton Association, Dr O D Sharma, Lt. Col. DV Sharma, DD Magotra (chief referee), Vijay Verma, Sunil Gurkha (organising secretary), Anil Gurkha, Inspector Kiriti Sharma and Balbir Jamwal.
The matches were conducted under the supervision of Satpal Sharma and Vikram Jamwal. |
