JAMMU, Sept 4: Even as a KPS officer was assured of his posting as a district SP in Jammu region, PHQ posted him in the office of senior police officer virtually as his 'clerk', forcing him to taste embarrassment.
This officer was very particular for his posting as a district SP in Jammu region, but the PHQ had decided something else for him. He was posted somewhere else even as his mentors had assured him of arranging the choice posting for him, police sources said.
He had done a lot of exercise for his posting as a district SP and also taken rounds of the residences of his mentors, but he could not succeed, the sources added.
He has also served as a DSP here, but was posted in a police wing for the past few years. He and some other officers were transferred from this wing nearly two months back. While some were posted in battalions and as district SPs, he and a few others waited for nearly two months for their further postings, souces said.
During his posting in an important police wing, he had developed good relations with some ministers, MLAs and ex-ministers. He visited all of them during his two months of attachment for his posting as the district SP. Though they assured him of their help, PHQ posted in the office of a senior police officer where his job was to look after files and do other official works, virtually reducing his status to that of a 'clerk', sources informed.
