kishtwar, Sept 4: Sleuths of excise department have destroyed a large quantity of lahan at Padyarna near here, besides apprehending a bootlegger. To curb the menace of illicit distillation, excise department sleuths and police jointly raided Ohlie, Padyarna, and seized 70 lts of lahan which was later destroyed on the spot in the presence of ex-sarpanch and some other villagers.
One Mohan Lal, son of Gukul Chand of Ohlie, was arrested from the spot and booked under law, official sources said.
ETO Shokat Mattoo had warned those of stern action who were found involved in such unlawful activities. He sought the cooperation of general public in this regard. |
