People rue malfunctioning of post offices in Poonch

Poonch, Sept 4: Till recent past post offices were considered very verered and its men reaching door to door to deliver their letters and other things was treated as a pious service but due to grand revolution in information and technology sectors post offices have lost their sheen and their mal functioning is reportedly observed all across the country.
The people of Poonch district rue the functioning of the post offices for taking their posts in ordinary way and the lackadaisical approach of delivery men has become cause of their concern. "The mail is not being delivered in time to people", said a local of Mendhar adding "all the letters, parcels passports and other things were being kept deliberately in the post office for monetary benefits from the concerned locals".
Another local of Poonch Nazir Ahmed Manhas alleged that his parcel was detained at the post for 2 weeks unnecessarily. When he checked the status of the same on internet he found that this parcel has been reached to his concerned post office 2 weeks ago, adding when he contacted the concerned post office, they said that it has reached just now while as the date on the parcel itself was written 2 weeks earlier.
It is pertinent to mention here that late delivery of the mail to the concerned people have become a heachache for them. In this fast and digitized period the post offices have gone in the obvilion hence needs immediate attention from concerned quarters to restore its gone sheen and glory before it the post offices become a history of past.
Meanwhile the District Development Commissioner MH Malik while talking to Early Times said that a probe will be initiated in late delivery of mail to locals and if anyone found guilty will be dealt with a heavy hand as per law.
Youth Club Mendhar Chairman advocate Nadeem Hussain Khan has urged Chief General Postmaster Jammu circle to take the cognizance of matter and take the measures to restore the old glory of post offices, he added.
