Poor health services in rural areas of JK 27 CHC OTs not function since upgradation 9/26/2016 10:50:04 PM Bijay Charak Early Times Report Jammu, Sept26: At a time when government patting its back over establishes of 84 Community Health Centres across state but its own claims have been dashing on ground as 27 Community Health Centers (CHCs) Operation Theatre's (OTs) yet not function which clearly indicates that current government in state is not serious about the health of rural population. Sources in department concern informed Early Times that the purposes for which the CHCs were establish in rural areas to provide specialist health care at door step but already establish more than two dozen CHCs across the state are functioning without specialist and at present there are no facilities of OT which proposed during the construction of the same. CHC Darhal and Kalkote are the example where specialists posts and Operation Theatre facilities were sanctioned by the department since decades back but owing to negligence of the department the facilities yet to be given. "Due to negligence of the Health department thousands of rural peoples across state are being forced to move towards city hospitals to take advanced treatment", said a retired medico, adding that if either government or department is unable to provide sufficient staff to these hospitals, why they announced dozens of CHCs in the far flung areas. Such announcement proves merely a political rhetoric made by local MLAs or government time to time. One hand the state got number one status in health services but contrary to it most of the health institutions in the state are facing acute dearth of manpower due to which such type of health institutions are lying defunct and the machinery establish there are gathering dust in the corner of hospital.
