JKTF starts three days hunger strike | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sep 26: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) today started three days chain hunger strike to press for early redressal of their just and genuine demands of the teaching community. The first batch which sat on hunger strike in front of the Directorate of School Education Muthi, Jammu comprised of Ganesh Khajuria State General Secretary of the forum, Narinder Singh Chib (Tehsil President Jammu), Naresh Kumar (Zonal President Arnia) and Bharat Bhushan (Secretary Tehsil Jammu). A large number of JKTF members were present on this occasion to show solidarity with the leaders who sat on Hunger Strike, while addressing the gathering, the leaders criticized the apathetic attitude of the education authorities regarding the redressal of genuine grievances of the teaching fraternity. A large number of Masters/Lecturers are suffering due to the wrong policies of Education Department and the Department is sitting as a mute spectator and did not show any concern towards mitigating the grievances. JKTF had already warned the Education authorities to modify the transfer orders of those masters/lecturers who are deserving and need immediate relief. But the Department paid no heed towards the warning, therefore Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum was forced to sit on Hunger Strike for three days to press for the early redressal of the demands of aggrieved transferees.
